John Wollaston was in Maryland 1754-55 when his portraits of the Calvert family were executed.Charles Willson Peale wrote that Wollaston was in Annapolis, Md. in 1755 and painted portraits of prominent families there. He is also said to have spent time in Virginia where he executed portraits of the Randolph family.
