Biography: Margaretta Angelica Peale was a daughter to James Peale and sister to Anna Claypoole and Sarah Miriam Peale. Like her sisters, she painted still-life compositions and was known for her fine depiction of fruit as subject. Her first still life paintings were done in 1810. Margaretta worked in Maryland during visits to her sister Sarah Miriam.
