Call for Organizations: Careers in the Arts Initiative - Mentoring (CAIM), Kennedy Center for the Arts. Arlington, Virginia. The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts announces a request for proposals to implement mentoring programs for individuals with disabilities. This project is being supported by the U.S. Dept. of Education and the National Endowment for the Arts. Proposals must be received by January 6, 2003, may include a request for between $1,000 and $15,000 in support, and are for projects to be executed between January 2003 and December 2003. Mission: To support arts and arts service organization in creating experiential education opportunities through mentoring for individuals with disabilities interested in pursuing careers in the arts. Latina Artists: "Corazonada - Quinceañera/Fifteen Years of Women's Work". Mission Cultural Center for Latino Arts in San Francisco, CA invites all Latina artists to submit artwork for the annual Sólo Mujeres exhibition titled, "Corazonada: Quinceaoera/Fifteen Years of Women's Work" that will be shown Feb 14-Mar 21, 2003. The exhibition is open to the theme of the heart and the way women see the world. The theme was chosen to fit the times we now live in, and to consider the lives of women in the world with the presences of war. The media can be installations, altars, sculpture, paintings, photography, mix media and arts and crafts. All work must be able to fit through a standard size door (approx. 80 x 36 inches) and weigh no more than 65 pounds. All installation and assembly work must be done in your studio and brought to the gallery ready to assemble. All entries are to be submitted by slide or actual artworks only. Send slides of artworks (no more than 6) with artist's statement, resume and list of slides submitted. If you are proposing an installation, send sketches of your ideas, plans, and slides of previous installation work. Slides submitted must be in 2x2 plastic mounts and labeled. Top Front: Name and title of artwork. Bottom Front: Size and Medium. One slide for each 2D work, two slides for each 3D work. Slides sent without a self-addressed stamped envelope (with correct return postage) will not be returned. Slides of accepted work will be held till the end of the exhibit. 2003 Small Print Photography. 2002-10-30 until 2003-01-15. The Camera Club of New York announces its 2003 Small Print Photography Competition. Open to all US residents 18 years of age or older, no subject limitation. Matted prints can be no larger than 154 square inches, which is the equivalent of an 11" x 14" matted and framed print. The Judges will be David Schonauer, Editor in Chief and Russell Hart, Executive Editor of American Photo Magazine. Fee is $25.00 for first 5 slides, $7.50 for each additional slide. Deadline for receipt of slides is January 15, 2003. Chosen artists will participate in a group exhibition at the Camera Club of New York's Lowenhertz Gallery. Positive Focus, a Brooklyn, NY-based nonprofit organization for emerging photoartists, is announcing a call for entries for "Animals" - number six in their ongoing photo contest series. This contest is open to any photographer residing in the United States. Photographs must be black & white and must represent one or more non-human animals, real or imaginary, living or man-made.
