Description: Oval bust portrait shows Maria Hyde Pratt (Mrs. Enoch Pratt) as a young woman with shiny black hair, parted in center and pulled back, turning head slightly to left. She wears white dress with low bodice. Her pose is vignette-type, with red and brown background above head, appearing buff at left and right.
Sitter's Life Dates: 1818-1911
Signatures/Inscriptions/Labels: Signature: "T Buchanan Read / 1860". Michaels' report notes a canvas stamp now hidden: "Wm. MINFIE'S / ARTIST'S / Draughtsman's / and / Stationery Store / no. 114 Balto. St. / Baltimore MD"
