Description: Three-quarter length portrait shows Mary Tilghman Roberts (Mrs. Edward Roberts): woman with long brown hair, wearing lavender-blue dress with white fichu and cuffs. In left hand, she holds miniature of niece, Mary Elizabeth Tilghman, which is attached to beige cord at waist. Woman is seated in federal side chair, with elbow on table.
Sitter's Life Dates: 1753-1819
