Description: Three-quarter length portrait shows Sarah Radcliffe Woodward (Mrs. Thomas Woodward) as middle-aged woman in mid-19th century clothing, seated in red-upholstered armchair. She wears black dress with white lace cap and collar, and fur wrap. Image has red background, and was probably made from a photograph. Image has much later pastel additions.
Sitter's Life Dates: 1789-
Signatures/Inscriptions/Labels: Inscription: "SARAH WOODWARD / nee Miss Sarah RATCLIFFE was born / Nov 8th 1789. She married Thomas Woodward / at St. Anns Church, Liverpool, on March 15th 1810. There was 12 children from this / illeg are between 1811 and 1835 / SARAH
