Description: Full-length portrait shows James Cardinal Gibbons: gray-haired man. He wears ermine cape, red robe, lace on lap, large ring, and cap. He holds cross in hand and sits in armchair with red upholstery and heavy carving. Coat of arms appears at upper right.
