Medium: Painting
Description: Shows Maryland and Virginia, and painted place names, some with paper glued over them. Vignettes show American Indians fishing and building a canoe. Another vignette shows John Smith sailing. Image also shows "A Map of the Chesapeake Bay Region in the 17th century ".
Signatures/Inscriptions/Labels: Lower center: "J. Carroll Mansfield". 2 inscriptions and many labels on paper glued or taped to painting, some probably as corrections to paited copy on the bd. itself.
