Medium: Painting Description: portrait shows William Patterson as young man seated in half-length pose, with paper in right hand reading "Paterson/Baltimore". He wears brown coat, white stock, and off-white waistcoat. A column is seen to background right, plus a seascape in background. The face of the sitter has been inserted in canvas. Sitter's Life Dates: 1752-1835 Signatures/Inscriptions/Labels: Paper label on verso of upper str. member: "William Patterson / by Pine / owner Miss Allison Patterson Harris / placed on loan Feb. 21, 1973-28- / ECH" (in red t marker except the "-28-" which is in pencil).
